Summary
At the border with Bavaria, the Rickenbach has carved a deep forest gorge in the Rohrach. Although not far from inhabited areas, the primeval forest-like woodlands in this rugged terrain are rightly considered among the wildest and most natural corners of Vorarlberg. As a result, protected areas have been designated on both sides of the national border.
