Description
Die Ausweisung als Naturschutzgebiet erfolgt zur Erhaltung und Entwicklung naturnaher Bach- und Auenlebensräume mit Erlenauwäldern und Nassgrünlandbrachen. Eine erhebliche Bedeutung hat das Gebiet als Trittstein für den Biotopverbund nicht nur innerhalb des Bergischen Landes sondern im Rahmen der Festsetzung als Natura 2000-Schutzgebiet auch europaweit.
