Summary
Lipper Höhe protects a vast lean grassland complex with rare Nardus and golden oat meadows, alongside wet marsh marigold and wood rush meadows. It safeguards habitats for endangered plant and animal species.
Description
The Lipper Höhe nature reserve is a vital sanctuary for diverse natural habitats. It preserves an extensive lean grassland complex, characterized by extensively used lean meadows and distinctive grassland fallows. This area is home to rare and endangered habitats of community interest, including highly endangered Nardus grasslands and the significant golden oat meadows. Additionally, wet grassland areas shape the landscape, featuring vibrant marsh marigold meadows and rich wood rush meadows. These specialized habitats provide a home for numerous endangered animal and plant species that depend on the unique conditions of these wet and lean grass landscapes. Lipper Höhe thus contributes significantly to maintaining these unique ecosystems.
