Flöddert Nature Reserve in the Steinfurt district, southeast of Rheine, protects and optimizes extensive wet meadows and nutrient-poor waters, including their specific vegetation. The Ems river flows west of the area, and to the south, it adjoins the Elter Dünen Nature Reserve, forming a contiguous and valuable natural landscape.
