Description
The "Neuensiener und Selliner See: Westufer des Selliner Sees" nature reserve safeguards the ecologically rich western shore of Selliner See. This protected area is crucial for maintaining the natural character of the lake, its diverse reed belts, and adjacent wetlands. It provides essential breeding, resting, and feeding grounds for numerous waterbird species, including many migratory birds. The area also hosts a variety of amphibians, specific fish populations, and unique plant communities adapted to the fluctuating water levels and nutrient-rich environment.
