Description

The Kenner Flur northwest of Kenn is a 31.4-hectare nature reserve in Trier, Rhineland-Palatinate, which was designated on 7 July 1989 by a statutory order of the Trier district government. It includes parts of the Ruwer-Paulin district and is located on the Moselle. The conservation objectives are to preserve the riverbank and watercourse structures typical of the Moselle floodplain and the associated plant communities as a habitat for endangered insects and amphibians. The area also serves as a breeding ground for bird species such as great crested grebe, sand martin and little ringed plover and as a resting place during bird migration. At the eastern end, the Kennerbach flows into the Moselle.
