Summary
The In der Held nature reserve near Hüttingen is located in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate. The approximately 10.5-hectare area was placed under protection in 1995 and extends north of the local community of Hüttingen an der Kyll. The B 90 federal road runs directly along the northern edge, the Kyll flows not far to the west and south-west and the Katzengraben flows not far to the south-east and east. The conservation purpose is the preservation and development of semi-arid grasslands, smooth oat meadows and secondary rock ecosystems with neighbouring shrub formations as habitats for numerous thermophilic and highly endangered animal and plant species and their biocoenoses.
