The Grünzer Berge in southeastern Mecklenburg-Vorpommern protects a richly structured valley slope within the Randow Valley. Its core purpose is to preserve and develop the area's unique dry and semi-dry grasslands, which are exceptional for the region. Diverse fringe, perennial, and spring vegetation also contribute to its ecological richness. This landscape is a crucial western distribution point for many continental plant species. Designated as a Natura 2000 site (FFH-Gebiet), Grünzer Berge safeguards important European habitats. The Stiftung für Umwelt- und Naturschutz Mecklenburg-Vorpommern manages this special place. While public access is limited, a path along the northwestern edge offers views into this unique natural environment, inviting quiet observation of its biodiversity.
