Summary
The nature reserve extends northeast of the town of Oppenheim and lies directly between the Rhine, which flows to the north, and Oppenheim harbor to the west. The area comprises floodplain forests in the Rhine floodplain, which are characterized by temporary water bodies and shallow water zones as well as reed beds and reeds.
