Summary
The Selzniederung nature reserve serves to preserve and develop an ecologically valuable area with near-natural streams, ditches and diverse vegetation structures. It provides a habitat for rare plant and animal species and is an important part of a networked biotope system. The richly structured slopes and near-natural embankments contribute to biological diversity. The area also serves as a resting and wintering place for endangered animal species.
