Summary

The Breitenbachtalsperre nature reserve is located in the Westerwald district of Rhineland-Palatinate. The aim of the protection is to preserve the landscape, including the water surface, the shallow water zones and the neighbouring wet meadows. This area serves as a habitat for rare and endangered wild plants and plant communities and at the same time provides protection for wild animal species whose populations are endangered.
