Bergsteig impassable

Due to the acute bark beetle infestation, the stability of the dead spruce stands has been greatly reduced. Throughout the national park area, dead trees and collapsing deadwood pose a very high risk on many paths. This is why some paths are currently declared impassable. For your own safety, please refrain from walking on the marked section of the Bergsteig until the situation has eased. It is not permitted to walk on the areas outside the paths. Please use the Erlsgrund and the Winterbergstraße instead (about 1.5 km).
