The Davert nature reserve in Coesfeld district is a significant natural landscape, characterized by a large, contiguous, and predominantly wet to moist forest area. It hosts valuable habitats such as bog woodlands, birch bog forests, oak-hornbeam, beech, oak-birch, and alder carrs. This mosaic is complemented by wet grasslands, near-natural stream sections, and small water bodies. This diversity protects a rich variety of insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
