The Schwarzbach Nature Reserve is located in Rhineland-Palatinate on the border with Saarland and covers around 32 hectares along the stream of the same name. It was placed under protection in 1987 and is one of the most important wetland complexes in the region. It is characterized by reed beds, alder swamp forests, ponds, and extensively used pastureland, which provide habitat for numerous animal and plant species.
