The Immerkopf Nature Reserve, located in the Oberbergischer Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, is a vital sanctuary for rare habitats and species. It conserves and develops bog forests that were historically used as coppiced woodland. Of particular importance are the well-preserved slope mires, which host numerous threatened plant species. The area also encompasses natural spring zones, structured stream courses, and valuable wet and damp grasslands. Furthermore, it protects species-rich calcareous sites, supporting a distinct flora, and significant cave systems that serve as crucial roosts for various bat species. The Immerkopf Nature Reserve plays a key role in preserving the biodiversity of this region.
