These include open, bare sand and raw soil areas that support early pioneer vegetation on sand, as well as expansive gorse heaths and valuable calcareous grasslands. The diversity is further enhanced by various fallow lands, traditional orchards, historic sunken paths, and dense hedges. Well-developed forest edge formations transition into old-growth and deadwood-rich deciduous mixed forests. Wet meadows, tall herb communities, and temporary standing waters also contribute significantly to the high biodiversity.
