Spessart

The Spessart is the oldest nature park in Bavaria and one of the largest in Germany. This extensive protected area was designated in the early 1960s, and a sponsoring association was founded shortly thereafter. Its mission then, as now, is the protection and careful development of this unique landscape, characterized by mixed deciduous forests, nestled between the Main, Kinzig, and Sinn rivers.
